Unison Group Chief Executive, Ken Sutherland said the company had long realised the benefits of accounting for staff health and wellbeing.

Mr Sutherland said the company had invested significant effort and resources into the development of its own programme which catered to the specific needs of its staff.

Risk and Environmental Advisor, Diana Young manages the programme and accepted the award on behalf of Unison’s staff. She said the key to the success of the programme was the commitment of staff.

"The programme works because all staff support it and take advantage of the activities it offers."

The AMP’D programme offers various opportunities for employees to take part in events and activities which improve their state of wellbeing.

In the past year, employees have used the programme to improving fitness, eating habits, and lifestyle choices.
