Unison Restores Supply to CustomersDate: 13 December 2011
Unison has restored power to all customers in Taupo, Rotorua and Hawkes Bay following a loss of generation by Transpower at their Huntly power station earlier this afternoon. Local electricity distribution company, Unison Networks experienced a 20% loss of power across parts of Taupo, Rotorua and Hawke’s Bay at approximately 12.30pm. Unison managed lines company, Centralines, was also affected. Unison worked with Transpower to quickly restore supply to affected customers, with all power re-connected by 3pm. “Once the fault was resolved by Transpower we were able to commence a phased restoration across our regions, commencing in Waipawa. Power has now been successfully restored for all our customers,” said Unison Group Chief Executive, Ken Sutherland. -Ends- For more information contact: |
