Unison supports a wide range of community groups, facilities and key stakeholders through sponsorship partnerships, demonstrating ongoing social responsibility in the wider communities in which it does business and operates vital infrastructure.
Three significant venues that benefit the communities in which they are located are among the facilities supported by Unison:
- In Rotorua the Company continues its sponsorship of the stunning Energy Events Centre and is the name sponsor of the Unison Arena;
- In Taupo the Taupo District Council and Unison have a partnership agreement in sponsoring the new Taupo Amphitheatre;
- In Hawke’s Bay a widespread community base benefits from ongoing sponsorship of the recently refurbished Hawke’s Bay Opera House in Hastings, featuring the Unison Dress Circle;
- Other sponsorship partnerships include the highly successful Unison lake safety programme in Rotorua, the Hawke’s Bay Helicopter Rescue Trust, various award categories in the Rotorua and Hawke’s Bay Chamber of Commerce business excellence awards, the Taupo Chamber of Commerce website, the learn-to-sail programmes in Taupo and Napier, the Hawke’s Bay sports awards, and the Unison Hall of Fame at Pettigrew Green Arena, Napier.
In 2009 Unison the following new sponsorships have been announced:
Unison has signed on to be the “Greatest Supporter” of the Hawke’s Bay Rugby Union in a three-year sponsorship commitment as community partner, with a special emphasis on junior rugby.
Taupo’s Top Town team – the Unison Taupo Lakers. The team of 12 representatives will be travelling to Christchurch on 1 December to compete against 15 other towns around the country in a variety of physical challenges. The Top Town competition will be filmed and aired on national television in early 2009.
