2008 Triennial Election of Trustees
The Hawke’s Bay Power Consumers’ Trust [HBPCT] is the 100% shareholder in Unison Networks Limited, on behalf of all consumers who are connected to Unison’s electricity Network in Hawke’s Bay.
The Trust is administered by five trustees and an election is held for all five trustees every three years.
In accordance with the Trust Deed, nominations are now sought from eligible HBPCT consumers for the election of FIVE (5) Trustees to hold office for the next three years.
The election will be held by both postal and internet voting under the First Past the Post electoral system on Wednesday 1st October 2008.
Candidates eligible for election must be connected to Unison Network Ltd and live within the Trust area, which is generally the geographical areas of Napier City Council and Hastings District Council.
Rules of eligibility are provided in the Candidate Handbook that accompanies the Nomination Paper.
Nomination papers are available from the Returning Officer, Warwick Lampp by phoning the free phone Election Hotline 0508 666 556, or by visiting the Trust Secretary’s office at Brown Webb Richardson, 111 Avenue Road East, Hastings, phone 06 873 8037.
Nominations open at 9am on Monday 30th June 2008. Nomination papers must be in the hands of the Returning Officer no later than 5pm on Friday 1st August 2008.
Nominations must be accompanied by a candidate deposit of $100 (GST inclusive), payable by cheque.
Candidates are encouraged to submit a candidate profile statement and photo with their nomination paper for sending out with the voting documents to electors.
The Candidate Handbook that is provided with the nomination paper outlines the rules and procedures governing candidate profile statements and candidate photos.
Voter packs will be posted out to consumers on Wednesday 10th September 2008 and voting closes at
5pm on Wednesday 1st October 2008.
The candidates’ names will be in alphabetical order on the voting papers.
