Choosing your Installer
A good installer should be able to assist you in making your investment decision by providing advice on the key issues such as system size, orientation, and energy management, as well as the application and connection process.
There are many installers selling and connecting solar energy systems for residential and commercial customers in Unison’s network area. It pays to shop around to find an installer that meets your needs.
Consider the overall cost of the system, not just the savings promised – especially when different vendors are promising greater savings than other vendors for the same sized system! You may also want to check the savings and 'payback' yourself, for example with an independent energy advisor, your accountant, or using a New Zealand-based online calculator, or Unison's solar calculator which is based on Unison's current electricity distribution charges for DG customers.
