Unison Contracting Services Limited

Established in 2010, Unison Contracting Services Limited (UCSL) provides specialist contracting services to Unison Networks, as well as other electricity distribution companies and customers.

The company offers power, civil and vegetation services, in addition to working alongside UnisonFibre to build the fibre networks in Hawke’s Bay, Rotorua and Taupo.

UCSL has completed a number of major projects recently, which are helping to power and connect Hawke’s Bay, Taupo and Rotorua. 

• Projects in Hawke's Bay include rebuilding the Flaxmere and Tamatea substations, making both substations safer and smarter as well as boosting capacity to cater for future growth in each area.
• Crews have also been working on a multi-year project to take the power lines and poles on Kennedy Road underground, improving the aesthetic appeal as well as the reliability and safety of electricity supply in the area.
• In Taupo, UCSL have recently built a new substation and 11 kV line to service the Wairakei Estate and Landcorp dairy farm development for what is set to be one of the largest dairy units in  the southern hemisphere.
• While in Rotorua the team have constructed the new Waipa substation which will enable local timber company, Red Stag Timber, to double its annual production as well as support future growth for other industrial businesses and tour operators in the Waipa Valley.
