Before reporting, please check:

  1. Is the mains switch on at your switchboard?  If a fuse or circuit breaker has blown or tripped, the issue is likely in your home - contact an electrician.
  2. Have you paid your power bill? – Check with your retailer.
  3. Check our current outages list. If your area isn’t shown, proceed with reporting the outage.

Report this to us before contacting an electrician.

Hawke’s Bay customers – continue completing this form to let us know about the issue.

Rotorua & Taupō customers – please seek assistance from your electricity retailer as your first point of contact.

Electricians can’t check our network and may still charge a call out fee to check for you, even if the problem isn’t at your property.

We may be able to help you avoid an unnecessary call out fee and restore your service:

Flickering lights or appliances not working as expected can indicate a partial loss of power. This means your home is receiving electricity on some phases but not others, usually due to a fault that needs attention.

Before reporting, please check:

  1. Single streetlight out – contact your local council.  If one streetlight is not functioning, this is usually managed by your local council. Please contact them and provide the exact location of the streetlight so they can address the issue.
  2. Multiple streetlights – report this to us. If several streetlights are out or flickering in the same area, this could indicate a larger electrical fault. Please complete the reporting form with detailed information about the locations affected, so we can investigate and resolve the problem.
