The Unison Group specialises in delivering a range of sustainable energy solutions. Unison is owned by the Hawke’s Bay Power Consumers’ Trust (HBPCT) on behalf of all consumers who are connected to Unison’s electricity network in Hawke’s Bay.

    Find Underground Cables

    Our Cable Location service is free of charge for electricity and fibre cables owned by us - in most cases located in the grass verge outside the front boundary of your property. This service ensures any digging you intend to carry out can be done so without any risk of hitting underground Unison-owned electricity or fibre-optic cables.

    We also locate underground cables which are not owned by us, because they are located inside the boundaries of private properties (known as privately-owned cables). In most situations, there is a fee associated with this service – we will always discuss service fees with you before any work is initiated.

    Safety Permits

    Always look up, down and around before working near power poles, lines, boxes or underground cables.

    If you’re planning to carry out a task which puts you, machinery, tools or vehicles within four metres of a Unison power line or five metres of an underground cable or ground mounted asset, ensure you apply for the correct permit to get the job done safely.

    Make an Alteration to My Power Supply

    If your electricity needs have changed and you require an alteration to your power supply (such as an upgrade or downgrade), you must complete our New Connection process, selecting the option of 'alteration'.

    You'll need an electrician to help you complete sections of this form.
