If you’re planning to carry out a task which puts you, machinery, tools or vehicles within four metres of a Unison power line or five metres of an underground cable or ground mounted asset, ensure you apply for the correct permit to get the job done safely.

To ensure the safety of people working near power lines, all activities and work in proximity to power lines must comply with ECP 34 - New Zealand Electrical Code of Practice for Electrical Safe Distances (NZECP 34:2001).
