Application to Connect Distributed Generation of 10 kW or Less

This form complies with the Electricity Industry Connection of Distributed Generation and constitutes an initial application for connection in accordance with Schedule 6.1, Part 1, Clause 2.

It must be completed by the person who is owns and is responsible for running the distributed generation.  The information requested in the application however, is technical in nature so it is recommended that it be completed with your electrician/installer who can provide those details.

What you will need to Complete this Application

Before completing this form, you will need to have all the required information available. Please note that you cannot save the form partially completed and come back to it later.

  • Your Installation Control Point (ICP) number.  This can be found on your power bill or you can search for it using your address on Your meter Electricity Authority website.
  • Distributed Generation Agent (provider of your system who supplies technical information and support) – Company name, contact phone and email address.
  • Electrician/Installer – Name, contact phone and email address.
  • If you indicate that you are adding a new distributed generation system, you will need to provide:
    • Inverter manufacturer
    • Model
    • Connecting phases
    • Inverter nameplate capacity in kVA and kW
    • Inverter nameplate voltage
    • Inverter nameplate amps
    • Power factor (not required if the system is solar)
    • Installed solar panel capacity in kW (if system is a solar DG)
    • Battery peak discharge in kW (if DG has battery storage)
    • Battery rated stored energy in kW hours (if DG has battery storage)
    • Battery make and model (if DG has battery storage)
    • If your system is not on the Clean Energy Council’s approved inverters list, you will need to attach a copy of a Declaration of Conformity or Certificate of Suitability
  • If you indicate that you are altering an existing distributed generation system, you will need to provide:
    • Total combined output of all solar panels on site in kW (if adding more solar panels)
    • Total combined output of all inverters on site in kVA and kW (if adding another inverter)
    • Total combined battery peak discharge of all batteries on site kW (if adding another battery)
    • Total combined battery rated stored energy kW hours (if adding another battery)
  • If your inverter is not listed on the Clean Energy Council Approved Inverters List and you do not have a Declaration of Conformity or Certificate of Suitability with AS4777, you are not eligible to apply and your application cannot be submitted.
