It’s a rEVolution: Unison Celebrates International Drive Electric Week at Rotorua Night Market

Unison will be offering Rotorua Night Market visitors the chance to win an e-bike, and experience an electric vehicle (EV) this coming Thursday to celebrate International Drive Electric Week.

Unison Relationship Manager, Danny Gough said, “The future of transport is electric. So, what better way to celebrate International Drive Electric Week than giving people the chance to win their own electric mode of transport.

“We will also be offering night market visitors the opportunity to get in an EV and experience what they are all about.

“EVs are becoming increasingly affordable, particularly through the growing second-hand market. Battery performance is improving – with some vehicles offering up to 400km range – and with no emissions, they are a great choice for consumers who want to reduce their carbon footprint.”

Market visitors who wish to go in the draw to win the electric bike (valued at around $2,500) from Flying Cat NZ will need to be at the Market to enter and answer a few simple questions about EVs. The winner will be announced on Unison’s Facebook page the following week.

Unison’s EV will be parked in the centre of the market, which is in the 'Heart of Tutanekai Street’, between Haupapa and Hinemoa Streets, from 5pm to 9pm (weather permitting).

Unison recently launched its public fast-charging stations for EVs, the Unison ‘Power Park’, in the Hastings and Rotorua CBDs. Rotorua’s ‘Power Park’ can be found in the Rotorua Lakes Council public carpark at 1134 Haupapa Street. The business intends to install further stations in Napier and Taupo.
