Unison Networks Announces New Group Chairman

Electricity distributor, Unison Networks today announced that Philip Hocquard has been appointed Unison Group Chairman effective immediately.
His appointment follows the retirement of long-standing Group Chairman Kevin Atkinson last month.
Mr Hocquard has been a director of Unison Networks Limited Board since July 2009. He was a Partner of Hastings legal firm, Bannister & von Dadelszen for over 20 years before retiring in 1999 to set up an independent mentoring business providing strategic, legal and general advice to selected private businesses.
He is a director of several privately-owned Hawke’s Bay companies, chairman of some of those, such as Mission Estate Winery and Lowe Corporation Limited.
Mr. Hocquard said he looked forward to working more closely with Unison Group Chief Executive, Ken Sutherland and his executive team to ensure Unison delivers electricity reliably, safely and cost-effectively to customers.
“I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for Unison and the chance to take the Company forward as emerging technologies and shifting consumer expectations continue to present significant opportunities to the business.
“I will continue to focus on the same important issues that as a Board we’ve been focused on. Safety, people, delivering a reliable and cost-effective service to our customers as well as returning a strong financial result for our shareholders, the power consumers of Hawke’s Bay.”
