Unison working with Transpower NZ to restore power to Taupo region

Monday 19 October, 2018 (3.51pm) – Approximately 16,000 customers remain without power across the wider Taupo region.

Unison Relationship Manager, Danny Gough said, “We are acutely aware of the disruption that a power cut brings to customers and businesses, and we thank everyone for their patience while we try to restore power.

"We are continuing to work closely with Transpower NZ to restore power as quickly as possible, whilst not compromising on safety.”

Unison was expecting further information from Transpower NZ on restoration times by 4.30pm and remained hopeful power would be restored this evening.
