Reprioritising work during COVID-19

With much of the community now based from home – and more reliant on the continuity of power – we are carrying out work that is essential in ensuring the reliability of our network, and the safety of our community.

If you have been notified that your property will be affected by a planned shutdown, please check the details under the ‘scheduled’ tab. We will do our very best to minimise the impact on your power supply, by using generation where we can and keeping outages as brief as possible.

Most of the time we can do our work without interrupting your power supply. Sometimes we need to turn off the power to complete work safely. We can’t always work on live lines. We understand it’s frustrating to have a power outage and we try to keep any outage as short as possible.

No power or hot water?

Before contacting us, there are a few simple checks you can perform, to find out whether the problem is on our network, or in your home.

  1. Check the main switch is on at your switchboard
    If a fuse is blown, the problem is likely in your home and you may require a call out from an electrician.
  2. Check if your neighbours have power
    If a number of houses in your area are without power or hot water, it is likely the outage is linked to a problem on our network.
  3. Check our list of current outages
    See if we have listed a scheduled or unscheduled outage in your area.
No internet?

If your fibre telecommunications connection is currently down, please contact your Retail Service Provider.

They’ll check to find the cause, and work with us directly to quickly restore your service in the unlikely event it is a network outage.
