Collaboration powers low carbon energy in Taupō

As Aotearoa’s largest manufacturer of premium and industrial wood pellets, Nature’s Flame Taupō is dedicated to reducing carbon emissions and promoting renewable energy sources nationwide. 

As part of a broader low carbon movement in the Taupō industrial area around Centennial Drive, Nature’s Flame collaborated with Unison to expand its operations. This expansion, requiring significant additional electricity capacity, enabled Nature’s Flame to increase their production capacity by over 50%, reaching 180,000 tonnes of premium wood pellets per annum. This increased production also helps other businesses access the fuel they need to decarbonise their operations by switching to biomass fuel.
