Tutukau Area Upgrade Project
As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the safety and reliability of your electricity, we will be replacing old poles and lines in the Tutukau area, including Te Kopia Rd, Mangamingi Rd, Pukemoremore Rd and State Highway 5. The current infrastructure is past its usable life and is due for replacement.
As part of this work, there will be several planned power outages in June and July. Look out for crews working in these areas:
When will the work happen?
We’ll have crews on site from early May through to the end of July 2026.

How will this affect me?
- Scheduled Power Outages: It’s estimated the project will require a series of outages, each lasting up to 7.5 hours.
- Traffic Disruptions: You may notice additional vehicles and large trucks with poles and equipment on State Highway 5, Tutukau, Te Kopia, Mangamingi, Pukemoremore Rd. Please take care when driving through the area.
