Approved Vegetation Contractor

Working near power lines is dangerous - and it’s not a job for just anyone.

To help keep everyone safe, we recommend using an Approved Vegetation Contractor when cutting, trimming or removing vegetation near our electricity network. These contractors are trained and equipped to work safely around electricity, and understand the regulations that apply under the Electricity (Hazards from Trees) Regulations 2003.

Why use an approved vegetation contractor?

• They know how to work safely around power lines
• They understand clearance distances and legal requirements
• They help reduce the risk of electrical accidents and unplanned power outages

If you or your arborist are planning work near power lines, always check with Unison first, and consider using our approved contractor.
